Subject: Beautiful illustrations
Subject: Beautiful illustrations
This bible is illustrated throughout very nicely in Renaissance style. The illustrations are similar to those of some French Renaissance artists like Bernard Salomon, although the ones printed here are clearly of a later date, since this bible was printed in Venice in 1669. Note also that at least one illustration was blotted out (by sticking something over it) - from the context one can gather that it was probably showing Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden.
